2022 “Lost in the Lavender” exhibit with Sarah Bourne Rafferty

  • The goal of the Warwick Furnace Farm Artist Residency Program is to create an inspirational space that supports artists at different stages of their careers fostering unique bodies of work at the intersection of art, agriculture, conservation and history in response to this site. We hope to create a program with flexibility to suit each individual artist’s practice and provide meaningful unexpected interactive creative experiences for our community.

  • Artists will be invited to create artwork on the property; in the lavender fields, woodlands or garden etc and the surrounding countryside for a duration to be determined individually in advance of the residency. Artists accommodations are in the Stone Barn guest rooms or Log House (as available) and access to a full kitchen and communal dinners will be provided. Options to add personalized creativity enrichment activities and professional development; from guided inspiration, recommended reading, portfolio reviews, creative business mentorship, yoga, pilates, meditation, and hiking.

Artist are asked to present a workshop, lecture, demonstration, or art experience for the community during their residency.

The program culminates with a gallery exhibition of the work and a limited run commemorative retail object (stationary, tote bag, etc to be agreed upon).

One piece of artwork created during the residency will be made to remain on the farm.
